Okay this is a sad thing but yet a good thing, I got a call by a resident who had a Coonhound show up on their property that was emaciated and needed a lot of care, they were told by a local veterinarian to call me so they did and I picked him up Saturday night but did not realize how bad the poor thing really was, and yesterday gave him a bath and learned he is going to need time, lots of patience and treatments to help him get back on the road to being back to a normal life. He is a great dog and it is a shame that he had to get this bad.

A lot of people don't know what to do if they lose their dog which I suggest make sure you always have current pictures, vaccinations have the pet spayed or neutered and microchipped to make sure they have a better chance to make it back home, and if you pet does come up missing call local police, animal rescues and shelters, visit the shelters and rescues and call veterinarians and let them know as they maybe called if someone finds a pet that appears to be lost. Make sure you talk with neighbors as well and recheck shelters and rescues both calling and visiting.
This Coonhound may have been with a hunting party and got separated from the party and being he did not come back they considered him for dead. Never consider your animal dead as they can be on the run even three months or more and still survive. I have a dog I took in seven months ago that is living proof of that ....
Anyone that can help this poor guy with vet care by donating please do. I have chipin page and paypal where you can donate. All this money goes towards his care such as the much needed special food to help him get his weight back, and get treatments that is will need for deworming and possible mange that is curable, and to get special vitamins. I will keep everyone up to date on his care and recovery.. just to see him is to love him, but to see him so thin and his bones all showing....
